Seven suspects accused of car theft arrested, all facing nearly $200K bond collectively
Seven suspects were arrested after being accused of stealing vehicles from a business Sunday morning, according to The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO).
Deputies responded to a call for service regarding multiple people trespassing at a business in the 3600-Block of Williston Road at approximately 4:15 a.m.
According to FCSO, a large group of individuals were breaking into and stealing vehicles from this location. When deputies arrived on scene, the suspects that were found breaking into vehicles ran away. Deputies arrested multiple suspects.

All seven were taken into custody and were charged with felony Larceny of Motor Vehicle, felony Breaking or Entering into a Railroad Car; misdemeanor Resist, Delay, or Obstruct a Public Officer; and misdemeanor First Degree Trespassing. The suspects all appeared before a magistrate to receive their respective bonds.
The individuals charged in this investigation are as follows:
- Abdu Maeruf Ali, 23, received a $10,000 secured bond and is currently confined to the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center (FCLEDC).
- Duane Austin, 30, received a $50,000 secured bond and has met the conditions of his release.
- Devontray Brooks, 18, received a $15,000 secured bond and is currently confined to the FCLEDC.
- Marquelan Moody, 20, received a $100,000 secured bond and has met the conditions of his release.
- Kenneth Reid, Jr., 24, received a $10,000 secured bond and is currently confined to the FCLEDC.
- Tesfa Yohannes, 28, received a $10,000.00 secured bond and is currently confined to the FCLEDC.
- Keenen Hamrick, 19, also received two additional charges of felony Assault with Deadly Weapon on a Government Official and Felony Flee to Elude. He received a $50,000 secured bond and is currently confined to the FCLEDC.
All are scheduled to appear in court on June 26th. This is an on-going investigation.
