DETERMINED THAT AN EF ONE TORNADO HIT THE SHOPPING CENTER THERE. A FURNITURE STORE HAD ITS FRONT WINDOWS BLOWN OUT AND THE CEILING ACTUALLY COLLAPSED AS WELL. WE’RE TOLD, THANKFULLY, NO ONE WAS HURT. I KNOW WE HAD OUR LESSON WITH THOSE EF ONE STORMS. NO MATTER THE LEVEL, THINGS CAN GET PRETTY SIGNIFICANT. BRIAN, AND EVEN STRAIGHT LINE WINDS. THERE WERE NUMBER OF REPORTS OF STRONG DAMAGE IN THAT GENERAL VICINITY. NOW, THEY DID HAVE AN ELEVATED RISK FOR STRONG THUNDERSTORMS THERE YESTERDAY. THAT LESSENS TODAY. AND WE CERTAINLY REALLY HAVEN’T HAD TOO MUCH IN THE WAY OF THUNDERSTORMS HERE LOCALLY EACH OF THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS. BUT YOU SEE THIS IS A 24 HOUR RADAR LOOP. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ONGOING. IT REALLY CAME IN THIS BAND AS IT KIND OF MOVES THROUGH THE 95 CORRIDOR YESTERDAY. THAT WAS THE WORST OF IT. THEY HAD ONGOING RAIN, SOME BREAKS AND MORE SHOWERS AND STORMS MOVED INLAND FROM OFFSHORE DURING THE EARLY OVERNIGHT HOURS. AND THERE’S MORE ON THE WAY THERE. SO IF YOU’RE A BEACH BOUND TODAY, THERE ARE GOING TO BE SOME SHOWERS AND STORMS TO CONTEND WITH. THE BULK OF THE WEEKEND, THOUGH, DOES LOOK BETTER FROM A RAINFALL PERSPECTIVE. THOSE ARE THE DAMAGE REPORTS. WILMINGTON NORTHWARD INTO THE KIND OF THE AREA AROUND THE SOUND OUTER BANKS TO DID CATCH SOME DAMAGE REPORTS THE THREAT FOR SEVERE TODAY IS MUCH LESS BUT THERE WILL BE SOME THUNDERSTORM FORMS AROUND ALL ACROSS THE STATE AS THAT CONTINUES INTO TOMORROW. AND AND EVEN SUNDAY, THERE IS A CHANCE NOW YOU’RE LOOKING WEST FOR LATE SUNDAY. THERE WILL BE ANOTHER SYSTEM COMING OUT OF THE WEST THAT’S GOING TO BRING A GOOD CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IN YOUR MONDAY INTO MONDAY NIGHT FORECAST. SO WE’LL WATCH FOR SEVERE POSSIBILITIES WITH THAT MOVING FORWARD ONCE WE GET PAST TUESDAY, I THINK WE’RE GOING TO BE RELATIVELY QUIET FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER THAT. AND EVEN THE TREND FOR THIS WEEKEND LOOKS BETTER THAN THE WEEK WE JUST WENT THROUGH BY EVEN BY LUNCHTIME TODAY, WE’RE STILL UNSETTLED. A FEW SHOWERS AND STORMS WILL BE FLARING UP AND WITH TEMPERATURES GETTING CLOSE TO 80 DURING THE AFTERNOON AND SOME 60S AND 70S OUT WEST, THERE WILL BE SOME SCATTERED STORMS DEVELOPING AND PEAKING. I THINK DURING THAT LATE DAY, EARLY EVENING WINDOW AND STORMS TEND TO FLARE UP IN THE SUMMERTIME. THINGS SETTLE OVERNIGHT. MOVING AHEAD INTO THE WEEKEND. IT DOES BECOME A LITTLE BIT MORE OF A LATE DAY STORM THREAT. SO QUIET EARLY SATURDAY. SCATTERED STORMS DEVELOPING SATURDAY AFTERNOON WITH HIGHS IN THE LOWER 80S. AND EVEN THOUGH THEIR COVERAGE IS GOING TO BE DOWN, I WILL MENTION AN ISOLATE SHOWER AND STORM THREAT. I DO HAVE US AT 20% FOR SUNDAY. THAT MIGHT BE ON THE HIGH END OF THINGS AND TEMPERATURES WILL BE WARMER. IN ADDITION TO THAT, SPEAKING OF WARM, WE’RE WARMER THAN WE WERE YESTERDAY. TEMPERATURES IN THE MID 60S TO START LOWER 60S, FARTHER WEST RANGE CHANCES WILL BE AROUND BUT SLOW TO DEVELOP. SO I THINK WE’LL HAVE FOR MOST COMMUNITIES A GAP IN THE RAIN FOR A WHILE. A BETTER STORM CHANCE LATE DAY HIGH OF 79 THIS AFTERNOON 77 FOR THE FOOTHILLS THAT IMPACT WINDOW COMES LATE IN THE DAY AS WELL MID TO LATE AFTERNOON AND MOUNTAIN TEMPERATURES LIKELY NOT GETTING OUT OF THE 60S, PERHAPS A FEW SPOTS NEAR 70 TODAY. AND AGAIN, CHANCE FOR STORMS STARTS TO POP UP DURING THE AFTERNOON. WARMER WEATHER FOR THE WEEKEND, MID 80S FOR HIGHS SUNDAY AND MONDAY AND WE’LL START TO DRY THINGS OUT SLIGHTLY LESS HUMID FOR WEDNESDAY AN
