NEWS. AND THAT BREAKING NEWS IS OUT OF EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA. ONE PERSON IS IN THE HOSPITAL AFTER A SHOOTING NEAR A HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL FIELD IN GREENVILLE. ACCORDING TO OUR NEWS GATHERING PARTNER WITN, IT HAPPENED NEAR THE J.H. ROSE PRACTICE FIELD JUST BEFORE 11:00 THIS MORNING. POLICE SAY THAT PERSON WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL AND THEY ARE NOT A STUDENT. THEIR INJURIES ARE ALSO NOT LIFE THREATENING. THE SCHOOL WAS PLACED ON LOCKDOWN WHILE POLICE RESPONDED. WITN reports the shooting happened near the J.H. Rose practice field, on Marvin Jarmin Drive, just before 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Police said the victim, 18, taken to the hospital is not a student and their injury is described by police as not-life threatening.
