Hauler Parade, Fan Fest in the Boros get fans pumped for the 2023 NASCAR All-Star Race

MEDIA. WELCOME BACK EVERYONE. IN THE NASCAR ALL STAR RACE WEEKEND IS JUST ONE MONTH AWAY. THE NORTH WILKESBORO SPEEDWAY IS GETTING READY TO HOST TENS OF THOUSANDS OF NASCAR FANS. AND SO IS THE TOWN. WXII 12 JOSHUA DAVIS IS IN NORTH WILKESBORO, WHERE HE SPOKE TO THE MAYOR ABOUT WHAT RACING FANS CAN EXPECT. JOSHUA. WITH ALL-STAR RACE WEEKEND JUST A MONTH AWAY. NORTH WILKESBORO IS IN CRUNCH TIME PREPARING FOR WHAT THEY’RE EXPECTING TO BE A HUGE TURNOUT. OH, IT’S GOING TO BE BIGGER THAN THE STATE IT’S GOING TO BE. PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER. ALL RACE FANS FROM ALL OVER THE COUNTRY ARE GOING TO BE HERE. NASCAR 2023 ALL-STAR RACE WEEKEND IS MAY 19TH TO THE 21ST. AND THERE ARE RACES IN THE DAYS LEADING UP TO THAT WEEKEND TO NORTH WILKESBORO MAYOR MARC HOUSER SAYS EVERYONE IS GETTING INVOLVED IN THE PREPARATION. WE OBSERVE THE TOWN HAS PURCHASED PLANTERS WILL FILL IN THE SPRING FLOWERS. EVERYBODY SPRUCED UP THEIR STOREFRONTS PAINTING, REPAIRING, MAKING THINGS LOOK BRIGHT AND CHEERING, INVITING THE TOWN OF NORTH WILKESBORO HAS ALL SORTS OF THINGS PLANNED FOR THEIR WEEK LONG FAN FEST, SUCH AS A CAR HAULER PARADE, A FERRIS WHEEL AND FOOD TRUCKS. AND THE ENTIRE DOWNTOWN AREA IS BEING TURNED INTO A SOCIAL DISTRICT. BUT WE WANT TO GET MORE PEOPLE DOWNTOWN NORTH WILKESBORO. WE WANT THIS TO BE A DESTINATION, NOT A PASS THROUGH. A BIG FOCUS FOR THE TOWN IS ACCOMMODATING WHAT THEY EXPECT TO BE TENS OF THOUSANDS OF RACING FANS, IF NOT MORE. WITH LOCAL HOTELS FULL, THE TOWN IS SETTING UP CAMPING SITES AROUND THE AREA AND THERE WILL BE SHUTTLES TO TRANSPORT PEOPLE AROUND THE COUNTY. SO WE’RE WORKING WITH THE NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, THE NORTH CAROLINA HIGHWAY PATROL, AND OUR LOCAL SHERIFFS, POLICE FORCES TO GET ALL THE EVERYTHING COORDINATED TO MAKE THIS THING AS SMOOTH AS POT. AND WITH THE RACE JUST A MONTH AWAY, HOUSER SAYS NORTH WILKESBORO WILL BE READY. SO WE’RE GOING TO MAKE SURE WE PUT OUR BEST FOOT FORWARD. Hauler Parade

The excitement of the NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway will be kicking into high gear with the Hauler Parade, presented by Central Logistics, Inc.

This will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 18, as part of "Fan Fest in the Boros."

Included in the parade is an impressive fleet of NASCAR Cup Series haulers as they make their way through Wilkes County, giving fans the up-close and personal look at the vehicle that will transport racecars and equipment to North Wilkesboro Speedway.

Fan Fest in the Boros

North Wilkesboro and Wilkesboro have partnered up to host Fan Fest in the Boros from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on May 18.

This includes fantastic concerts, food vendors, family-friendly activities, driver appearances and a firework show for all race fans.

Wilkesboro

The Town of Wilkesboro's activities will be hosted in and around the Carolina West Wireless Community Commons and the Heritage Square, in addition to the performances on the Wilkes Communications Pavilion located at 102 West Main St., in the heart of Historic Downtown Wilkesboro.

4 p.m. - Presley Barker
6 p.m. - Alex Key
8 p.m. - The Georgia Thunderbolts

NASCAR All-Star Week

The NASCAR All-Star Week is a week-long celebration that brings together the sport's biggest stars for a series of thrilling events and races.

These festivities culminate in the All-Star Race, which pits the best NASCAR drivers against each other in a winner-takes-all showdown for one million dollars.

"We are excited to host the NASCAR Hauler Parade in Wilkes County," said Wilkes County Manager John Yates. "This event is a great opportunity for NASCAR fans to come out and show their support for the sport and the drivers they love."

Fans interested in attending Fan Fest, Hauler Parade, concerts, and driver appearances are welcome to park in the nearby parking lots located at the Wilkes County Courthouse in Wilkesboro and multiple public parking lots in downtown North Wilkesboro with shuttle rides provided by The WTA stopping in both Wilkesboro and North Wilkesboro.

Those in need of ADA parking may park at the Wilkes County Courthouse adjacent to the shuttle stop in Wilkesboro or in the parking lot adjacent to the Yadkin Valley Marketplace, both of which are conveniently located next to a Fan Fest shuttle stop.
