Northern Lights captured in North Carolina, Virginia skies for second time in a month along Blue Ridge Parkway

For the second time in a month, the rare aurora borealis – or Northern Lights – sightings have been captured in both North Carolina and Virginia.
Lee Vandyke was lucky enough to capture a sighting. He said he raced up to the Blue Ridge Parkway near Floyd, Virginia, to catch some spectacular shots of the Northern Lights Sunday night.

“This was my first time seeing the Northern Lights, very rare to see them this far south,” he posted on Facebook while sharing the photo.
Thomas Mabry captured stunning images of the Northern Lights in North Carolina. He spotted them in the Craggy Gardens area of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
