North Carolina businesses are providing the eggs for the White House Easter Egg Roll
MEDIA, IF YOU CAN BELIEVE IT. EASTER IS JUST ONE WEEK FROM SUNDAY AND ONCE AGAIN THE WHITE HOUSE IS PREPARING TO HOST ITS ANNUAL EASTER EGG ROLL AND THIS YEAR’S EGGS ARE COMING STRAIGHT FROM NORTH CAROLINA. JOSHUA DAVIS IS IN WINSTON SALEM, WHERE TWO NORTH CAROLINA BUSINESSES ARE MAKING CONTRIBUTIONS. A FARM IN NASH COUNTY IS PROVIDING TENS OF THOUSANDS OF EGGS FOR THE WHITE HOUSE EVENT AND A BUSINESS HERE IN WINSTON-SALEM IS HELPING TO GET THEM READY. IS VERY HUMBLING. IT’S VERY EXCITING. NORTH CAROLINA BASED COMPANY BRASWELL FAMILY FARMS IS PROVIDING 13,000 EGGS FOR THE WHITE HOUSE. EASTER EGG ROLL AND PARTNERING WITH WINSTON-SALEM BASED BUSINESS, THE STOCKED POT TO DIE AND PREPARE THEM FOR EASTER MONDAY. IT’S SO COOL. THE I DON’T KNOW HOW MANY HUNDREDS OF CHILDREN WILL GET TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 4000 IN THE EASTER EGG ROLL. BUT I MEAN, I CAN JUST KNOW HOW IMPORTANT AND EXCITING THAT MEMORY WAS TO ME. ANDREW MCMILLAN OF THE STOCKPOT SAYS WHEN HE WAS FIRST APPROACHED ABOUT DYEING THE EGGS, HE WAS EXCITED TO BE A PART OF THE PROCESS AND A BIT DAUNTED BY HOW MUCH THEY WERE ASKING FOR. SO I HAD TO ACTUALLY FIGURE OUT THE PROCESS. AND LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, YOU CAN’T GOOGLE THAT. THEY’RE NOWHERE ON ON GOOGLE DOESN’T SAY DYEING 10,000 EGGS, LET ALONE 1000, LET ALONE 100. TERRY BRASWELL WITH THE FARM SAYS HE’S HUMBLED. HE GETS TO BE PART OF THIS BELOVED TRADITION. FOR US TO BE ABLE TO LOOK AND SEE THOSE EGGS AND KNOW LIKE WE PRODUCE AND WE ARE PART OF DYING THEM AND WE DELIVER TO THEM, AND SO THOSE KIDS CAN HAVE THAT SAME JOY IS REALLY A LOT OF HONOR AND THAT THIS IS JUST THE CRIMINAL. THE ICING ON THE CAKE TO BE ABLE TO DO SOMETHING FOR THE CHILDREN ON EASTER IS REALLY COOL. IT’S GOING TO TAKE A FEW MORE DAYS TO GET ALL THESE EGGS DYED AND PACKAGED. BUT THEY’LL MAKE IT IN TIME TO D.C. FOR PEOPLE TO MAKE SOME GREAT MEMORIES IN WINSTON-SALEM.
