He seeks reassurance that he is pleasing the adult figures in his life.When John walked around Kaladeium North in Winston-Salem, his love of animals was evident. “Oh it’s a chinchilla," he said to WXII 12's Audrey Biesk. He kept impressing her with the name and details of every exhibit. “I either want to be a zoologist or an ichthyologist, which basically is the study of fish and freshwater fish and they go around and figure out what they eat and find new species of fish and all that," John said. He really wants a pet when he thinks about his adoptive family. When asked what his dream pet would be. He said smiling, “I definitely want a penguin, but that means I'd have to keep it cold and then the house would be way too cold.” When John thinks about getting adopted he said it makes him feel joyful.
