GUNSHOT WOUND. MEANWHILE, AMERICA IS MARKING FIVE YEARS SINCE THE SHOOTING AT MARJORY STONEMAN DOUGLAS HIGH SCHOOL IN PARKLAND, FLORIDA. 14 STUDENTS AND THREE STAFF MEMBERS WERE KILLED. THE SHOOTER, NIKOLAS CRUZ, WAS SENTENCED TO LIFE BEHIND BARS FOR CARRYING OUT THAT MASSACRE. THE PARKLAND COMMUNITY HAS SEVERAL COMMEMORATE EVENTS TODAY TO HONOR AND REMEMBER THE LIVES LOST ON THAT TRAGIC DAY. IN WINSTON-SALEM, A MAN IS BEHIND BARS IN CONNECTION TO A DEADLY SHOOTING BACK ON JANUARY 30TH. POLICE, ALONG WITH DEPUTY U.S. MARSHALS, ARRESTED TYSHAWN STEVENSON IN THOMASVILLE ON A MURDER WARRANT. THE SHOOTING HAPPENED ON GENEVA ROAD NEAR SILAS CREEK PARKWAY AND EBERT STREET. 35 YEAR OLD DEMETRIUS WILLIAMS WAS SHOT AND DIED AT THE HOSPITAL.

Bernadad Cumbie bought a lucky $35,000,000 Blowout ticket from the Quick Mart on Randleman Road in Greensboro.

"I turned to the cashier and told him, 'I just won big,'" she said. "He started jumping up and down and gave me a big hug."

    Cumbie said she has played the lottery for a long time and always knew her turn would come.

    “I just kept seeing all these winners in North Carolina and kept believing that could be me,” she said.

    She plans to use her winnings to help her son pay for law school and to pay off bills.

    "I was so happy that I could call my son and tell him I won $400,000," she said.

    Cumbie arrived at lottery headquarters Monday to collect her prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $285,001.

    The $35,000,000 Blowout game debuted in January 2022 with four top prizes of $400,000. Cumbie won the last top prize in the game.
