UPDATE: Police arrest man shot on Bethabara Pointe Circle in self-defense, Winston-Salem police said
A 24-year-old man has been released from the hospital and arrested accused of assaulting three women on Feb. 9 on Bethabara Pointe Circle.
One of the women managed to shoot Johordon Davis in the neck, police said. No charges will be filed against the Greensboro woman.
Officers were called to an apartment complex on Bethabara Pointe Circle after 5 p.m. Police said they found Davis, injured in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to his neck.
Another victim was found inside the apartment with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said a woman inside the apartment pulled out a gun and shot at Davis but missed in an attempt to stop the assault. The bullet hit one of the other women involved instead.
According to investigators, Davis and a family member arrived at the complex to grab his belongings from his ex-girlfriend's apartment. Police said Davis became irate and then began assaulting multiple women inside the apartment, including his mother and ex-girlfriend.
Davis and the woman who fired the gun began fighting over the weapon, according to police. Leading them outside to the parking lot, where police said he proceeded to assault her. The woman managed to grab the gun and then shot Davis on the left side of his neck.
Winston-Salem police arrested Davis Thursday. He is being held without bond until Feb. 19. Then it will change to a $10,000 unsecured bond.
