A WINSTON-SALEM MAN IN CUSTODY IN CONNECTION TO A DEADLY MASS SHOOTING AT A GENTLEMEN’S CLUB IN GREENSBORO. 26 YEAR OLD DESHAUN HUNTER WAS ARRESTED BY POLICE IN GREENSBORO TODAY. HE’S FACING A NUMBER OF CHARGES, INCLUDING SECOND DEGREE MURDER AND FOUR COUNTS OF ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON. EIGHT DAYS AGO, SEVEN PEOPLE, INCLUDING CEDRIC MONROE, WERE SHOT AT SOUTHSIDE JOHNNY’S IN GREENSBORO, MONROE LATER DIED FROM HIS INJURIES. THE OWNER OF THE CLUB HAS VOLUNTEERED. HE CLOSED THE BUSINESS TEMPORARILY ANYWAY, AFTER MEETING WITH A SAFETY REVIEW TEAM DURING AN INSPECTION LAST WEEK. CODE ENFORCEMENT AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT FOUND MINOR VIOLATIONS, THEY SAID. A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting at a gentleman's club on West Street Market overnight that left six injured and one dead, according to Greensboro police.

Dasean Hunter, of Winston-Salem, has been charged with second-degree murder, four counts of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to inflict serious injury and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at Southside Johnny’s just before 3 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 29.

Police confirmed seven people were shot, including 36-year-old Cedric Monroe, who later died of his injuries. Six others were injured.

During an inspection on Feb. 2, Greensboro city officials said they discovered a total of nine violations. Seven of the nine violations were reported in a previous inspection last fall.
