Guilford County Sheriff's Office: Man fired gun after deputies entered house
The Guilford County Sheriff's Office said a man fired shots at deputies during a standoff after deputies forced their way into a house.
Deputies tried to serve a search warrant at a home on Beatle Drive at 1:45 p.m. Thursday but someone in the house would not let them inside.
The sheriff's office said when that person stopped communicating with them, deputies forced their way into the house and saw a man with a gun.

"The person pointed the gun at the deputies. Deputies discharged their weapons at him. The subject retreated into a different part of the house and then after about a two-and-a-half hour standoff, and negotiations, we were able to take the person into custody." Lt. Jay Eaton said.
The sheriff's office said deputies took the man into custody at 5:30 p.m.
Deputies did not say what the initial search was in reference to.
The suspect was identified as Vince Britt.
He was hospitalized, but the injury was not due to a gunshot.
Deputies arrested Britt on Saturday. He faces several charges, including assault with a firearm on a law enforcement officer.
Britt is in jail on a $1,000,000 bond. He's due in court on Monday.
