HIS SON AND CURRENT ESPN BROADCASTER MARK PACKER SHARED THE NEWS ON SOCIAL MEDIA LAST NIGHT. MARK TOLD THE ASSOCIATED PRESS HIS FATHER HAD BEEN IN THE HOSPITAL IN CHARLOTTE FOR THE PAST THREE WEEKS AND HAS DIED FROM KIDNEY FAILURE. Longtime college basketball analyst Billy Packer has died at age 82.His son and current ESPN broadcaster, Mark Packer, shared the news on Twitter. He told the Associated Press his father had been hospitalized in Charlotte, North Carolina, for the past three weeks and ultimately passed from kidney failure.Billy Packer attended Wake Forest and played for the Demon Deacons' basketball team from 1958 to 1962.
