A tractor-trailer truck driver visited Mission Hospital to thank the staff for their care after a severe crash, according to officials from Mission Hospital in Asheville.Officials say that Sheriff Manjang was involved in a severe accident about a year ago when the brakes of his tractor-trailer truck went out as he was heading down a mountain.“The only thing I could remember was I kept praying and begging to ‘please just let it be me.’ I did not want anyone else to be hurt in this accident other than me,” Manjang said. Manjang tried to get his truck onto the runaway truck ramp but overturned in the process, officials say.According to Manjang, the next memory he had was waking up in Mission Hospital. “I immediately started crying and couldn’t stop crying for the rest of the day. I was so thankful to be alive. I cannot put into words how impactful my time was at Mission Hospital. Some of my nurses would come to my room, hold my hand and cry with me. I will never forget my time at Mission,” said Manjang during a visit back to see the Mission Hospital team. “I was certain that day was the end for me.
