Martin Luther King, Jr. Day events around the Piedmont Triad

JUST YESTERDAY. ON MONDAY, THE ENTIRE WILL PAUSE TO REMEMBER THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. BUT CELEBRATIONS OF HIS SERVICE START THIS WEEK IN BOSTON. A STATUE WILL OFFICIALLY BE UNVEILED FOR THE PROJECT, WHICH SHOWS AN EMBRACE BETWEEN. DR. KING AND HIS WIFE, CORETTA SCOTT KING. IT’S FIVE YEARS IN THE MAKING. THE ARTIST HOPES THAT THIS WILL SERVE AS A CALL TO ACTION AND A CALL TO LOVE. THE STATUE WILL BE ON DISPLAY AT. BOSTON COMMON. BACK HERE IN THE TRIAD, THE CITY OF WINSTON-SALEM ANNOUNCED, SOME CHANGES IN ITS OPERATIONS TO THE HOLIDAY. OFFICIALS SAY CITY OFFICES WILL BE CLOSED MONDAY AT THE SAME TIME, ALL YARD WASTE COLLECTION WILL BE PUSHED BACK BY A DAY. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO GARBAGE OR RECYCLING COLLECTIONS.
