The families of the victims of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland reached a $25 million settlement with the Broward School District on Monday.The settlement agreement is still being drafted, said attorney David Brill, who represents the families. The largest payments will go to the 17 families whose children or spouses were killed, and they will each receive an equal amount. Brill did not provide additional information about amounts or how the money will be divided. "While this settlement is fair and remarkable given the circumstances and the fact that the School Board is a sovereign immune entity, it is nowhere near enough money to compensate the victims," Brill said. "Indeed, there isn't enough money in existence to do that." Broward County Schools told sister station WPBF that they do not comment on pending litigation.
