Kathy Manning talks COVID-19, record vote count after win in 6th Congressional District race
Kathy Manning is the representative-elect for the 6th Congressional District seat, which now covers Winston-Salem, Greensboro and High Point because redistricting has combined voters in Guilford and Forsyth counties.
Manning spoke to WXII 12 News Wednesday after her election win. She says her first priority for herself, while in office, is getting the virus under control.
"We have got to get kids back to school and people back to work and our businesses open. That is only going to happen when we get the virus under control and people feel safe getting back to their normal lives," Manning said.
Wednesday, Manning also acknowledged the record voter turnout this election season and believes everything deserves a count.
"We need to have the patience to make sure every vote is counted."
